Launched in December 2024, the Industry Returns Initiative Review (IRI) will run between January and March 2025, and focus on ensuring that this best-in-class standard for the management of returns continues to meet the needs of today’s stakeholders.
Launched in June 2024, the project will agree, document and promote best practice for the collection and management of product information by the various recipients of that metadata. Recipients will be UK or Island of Ireland based or be active in those markets.
The BIC Metadata Map project was commissioned by the BIC Metadata Sub-Committee with the purpose of creating a map of the UK book industry’s metadata supply chain from the point of creation (with the publisher as the start point) through to the end-recipients of the metadata (i.e., consumers).
The BIC Green Supply Chain Committee has now signed off on its refreshed Green Supply Chain Work plan.
This Work Plan is developed and refreshed annually, in line with BIC’s Green Promise and Agenda, and uses the United Nations Sustainability Development Goals as its frame work.
