BIC Brunch: Tackling the Backlist Mountain – Practical Strategies for Accessibility Compliance
#bicbrunch
Introduction
With the European Accessibility Act (EAA) deadline behind us, BIC’s Accessibility webinar series turns its attention to the question of tackling the “backlist mountain” and the challenges it presents for the publishers and booksellers. This webinar will bring together industry experts to share practical, (non-commercially sensitive) insights into how publishers can assess, prioritise, and remediate their e-book backlist for accessibility and how booksellers and readers might help support this process.
The session will explore key questions, including:
- How might publishers approach the sheer scale of their digital backlist and what makes remediation viable?
- What decision-making frameworks and best practices can support an effective digital backlist review?
- How might AI-driven tools and workflows offer pragmatic support in the remediation process?
- What are we learning about the first insights with regards to readers’ needs, and how can publishers adjust the information they provide?
- How might readers and institutional customers shape backlist accessibility priorities/actions and improvements?
Join us for a practical discussion designed to help publishers make informed, achievable decisions as they continue their accessibility journeys.
